The Tarrant Gunville Horse Show
21st August 2010
The Tarrant Gunville Horse Show was started after the war to provide an annual activity for local children. It has been held continuously in the grounds of Eastbury House by kind permission of the Farquharson family and is unchanged in character remaining a traditional village show.
The show has 34 different classes which include classes for children on the leading rein up to competitive hunter classes. Uniquely it has a short cross-country (Handy Hunter) course which is an ideal introduction to jumping outside the ring, as well as a driving class, a gymkhana, a parade of the Portman Hounds and, at the end of the afternoon, a very popular comic dog show.
The next show will take place on Saturday 21st August 2010.
